Health and Advice

We provide a broad range of health and wellbeing activities designed to support children in exploring at their own pace while promoting independence, curiosity, and holistic development.

Understanding the Human Body

Children develop a simple understanding of their bodies and how they work through fun, practical, hands-on activities.

Caring for Our Teeth

Children are learning about dental care, including how to brush their teeth properly and keep their mouths healthy through play-based activities and thoughtfully planned experiences.

Handwashing and Germ Awareness

Children are learning about the importance of handwashing and exploring the concept of germs through fun, interactive sensory activities. Through water play, bubbles, and practical demonstrations, children begin to understand how germs spread and how washing their hands helps keep them healthy. These experiences support children in building independence while developing positive hygiene habits that help keep themselves and their friends safe.

Healthy Eating with the Eatwell Guide

We use the Eatwell Guide to support children in learning about healthy eating through everyday conversations and planned activities. Children explore different food groups and learn how different foods help their bodies grow strong and healthy, encouraging them to explore different tastes, textures, and colours. Through our cooking club, children enjoy preparing simple foods and snacks, which helps them develop confidence and curiosity around food. At times, they take their creations home to share with their families, helping to build connections between learning at nursery and home.
