Whitchurch Montessori is a pre-school born out of a desire to give their children the best possible introduction to education… both inside and outside of the classroom.  Founded by Julia Lymbery and Sharon King the School’s mission is very clear: “To help as many people as possible to reach self-actualisation”

Having worked with 14 to 16 year olds, it became evident to Sharon that to really make a difference to young people’s lives, it had to be done in their formative years… i.e. 0-6 so she sought out the best possible education that she could for young people and found herself re-training as a Montessori Teacher.  

 

Maria Montessori was a visionary and pioneer guided by insights that have had a huge influence in education as we know it today.  “We do not say that we want to prepare a school for the children, we wish to prepare an environment for life, where the child can develop a life".

The method is designed to develop the following in your child:

  • Independence                                

  • Concentration

  • Intelligence

  • Co-ordination

  • Social awareness

  • Self-esteem                    

  • Social skill  

  • Self-discipline

  • Order

This is achieved by creating an enriched environment which entices, enlivens and ignites the child’s interest… they engage in Practical Life Activities with precision and concentration thus achieving their sensitive periods and creating a clear path for a wonderful life.  

 

We intend that every child that leaves Whitchurch Montessori does so with high self-esteem, developed social skills, an ability to problem solve and most importantly to be right on track to live a consciously created life of their dreams.
